Who we are: wearable art, 3D printed

It pains me physically to see woman victimized,
rendered pathetic by fashion.

Awkwardness gives me great comfort. I've never been cool, but I've felt cool. I've been in the
cool place, but I wasn't really cool – I was trying to pass for hip or cool.

A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous. I am convinced that there can be luxury in simplicity. I wanted to dress the woman who lives and works, not the woman in a painting. It's hard to balance everything. It's always challenging. My relationships with producers or photographers – these are relationships that took years. I can't get sucked into that celebrity thing, because I think it's just crass. My aim is to make the poor look rich and the rich look poor. Vanity is the healthiest thing in life. I believe that my clothes can give people a better image of themselves – that it can increase their feelings of confidence and happiness. You can hide so much behind theatrics, and I don't need to do that any more. I don't really know how to do casual clothes.

The name

Siño is a reinterpretation of "signo," a diminutive of "signorina" (young lady): the nickname Dario uses for his granddaughter. Milan is part of the project's roots: the city where fashion and design have always conversed, the two territories on which Siño builds its identity.

From industrial prototyping to jewelry

Dario grew up alongside 3D printing: his father has been using it for about thirty years to design technical components and industrial prototypes. This familiarity led to the idea of bringing the same precision to a completely different field: wearable objects.

How a collection is born

Every collection starts with a declared inspiration.
An architecture: Sydney echoes the sails of the Opera House. A natural form: the Greta ring reinterprets a seashell with its pearl. An ancient figure: Kaiya is born from the mandala, the geometry with which Hinduism and Buddhism represent the cosmos. A rhythm: Laura evokes the movement of waves. Or pure invention, like Vega: intertwining conduits and subterranean paths that capture the hidden energy of the city.

The complete story of each inspiration lives on its respective collection page.

Who is carrying out the project

Siño Milano is driven by two individuals with complementary backgrounds.

Dario Covini is the designer and founder of the brand. He handles the entire technical aspect: 3D design, material selection, printing, and finishing.
His background combines an engineering education with years spent abroad, but the impetus comes from elsewhere: from contemporary visual art and a fascination with forms that envision the future.
This is what he seeks in every collection, and why he summarizes his work as follows:
"I like to define my creations as wearable art."

Amina is responsible for business development and relationships with retailers and clients.
She brings over ten years of international experience between Italy and the United Arab Emirates, including in the architecture and design sector. She joined the project with a declared goal: to transform Siño Milano from a project into a company.
